We all know the new big thing is Go Green…that includes EATING MORE GREEN TOO! Green Smoothies are becoming more popular, but it can take some getting used too. I am still trying to get used to them myself. If you are one of the many Americans who are severely lacking greens in your diet, or if you despise them, this is a great way to incorporate more into your body without the moaning and groaning while trying to shove asparagus and kale into your mouth. When I have time, I like to play and experiment with my vita-mix (although with this concoction you don’t need one, an ordinary simple blender will do) I have a great recipe I threw together tonight for you all to try and will love! Even you Green haters…
Many recipes online are so complex; noone in the real world (especially us New Yorkers) have the time to buy and prepare a 100 ingredients, so my mission is to keep things fun and simple.
ChocoGreen Protein Delight
Handful of ice cubes (this is preference if you want it more frozen or more liquid)
Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (Sometimes I just use water) If possible, try to leave out the dairy. Again it is preference on how much you use based on consistency and how much you are making.
Nutrilite Whey Chocolate Protein Powder Packet (Vanilla also available) @ http://www.amway.com/cjmarketing (YUM!)
1 or 2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter ( Optional)
Cinnamon Stick (Optional)

Cucumber (About 6 -8 thin slices)

A handful of Kale
Benefits of Kale: Fights fat, high in fiber (gives relief if you have IBS), beta-carotene for healthy eyes, rich in well-absorbed calcium to promote bone health, rich in folate and vitamin B6, contains a powerful phytochemical sulforaphane which helps boost body’s detoxification enzymes (released when chewed or chopped), antioxidants present to help prevent cancer, beneficial for heart
Flax Seed (Optional)
Benefits: High in Omega 3 and fiber (great to fight against Diabetes), reduce LDL (bad Cholestrol), fights Cancer, Other- Aids in Constipation, Inflammation, Menopause, heart disease, boost the immune system and your mood!

This is just a sample. Feel free to play around with all sorts of flavors and greens. I promise it will taste great and you won’t even realize its there if you throw the greens in with other ingredients. Even decorate your glass you drink it from! Stores sell colorful, edible flowers that will look fabulous on top and you will feel relaxed like you just got served first class at the spa! Instant relaxation to wind down from a productive day and great workout at the gym.
